The owners of Akemi wanted to open a sushi restaurant. When they came to us, the building was under construction and they were deep into the interior design. They were fixed on the name and logo.
They wanted to go with the tagline 'where the world revolves around you.' Two agencies in town had come up with the tag in their pitch.
We thought the brand essence could be captured by focusing on the experiences people could have dining out in Dar's first revolving restaurant.
We salvaged the logo by turning it into a stamp, a coin for members, reinforcing the movement of a circle.
